One subscription instead of four

Teams running their own servers usually buy server management, log search, uptime checks and an on-call rota from four vendors, on four invoices nobody adds up. For 3 people on the rota that comes to $164 a month. Provisore Scale includes all four for $59. Prices checked 12 September 2026.

The four things, and what they cost separately

A team running a dozen sites across a few servers, with somebody carrying the phone.

Four subscriptions

$164/month

Plus your provider’s bill for the machines, which is the same on both sides and left out of both.

Provisore Scale

$59/month

All four for unlimited team members, with 20 monitored servers included and 30-day log retention. About $1260 a year less.

Where the separate tools are still the right answer

The swap holds while everything you page on is a server or site Provisore manages.

Their tools monitor anything. Ours monitors your servers.

Better Stack and PagerDuty are general-purpose. They will watch a third-party API, a Kubernetes cluster, a payment provider's status page. Provisore's alerting covers the servers and sites it manages. If your on-call surface is wider than your own estate, buy the general-purpose tool.

PagerDuty does more than rotate a rota

Hundreds of integrations, incident workflows with conditionals, round-robin scheduling, custom incident roles. Provisore has rotations, overrides, escalation policies and incidents opened from your own alert rules and monitors. That covers paging for your own servers. It does not replace an incident practice built around PagerDuty.

Log volume is measured differently, and at scale that matters

Provisore budgets lines per server per day. Better Stack sells gigabytes, with pay-as-you-go above the bundle. The line budget covers a busy web server. For a high-volume pipeline, something priced in gigabytes fits better.

Questions about this arithmetic

Is this comparing like with like?

For a team that wants deploys, log search, uptime checks and a rota for its own servers, yes. Better Stack and PagerDuty also cover systems Provisore does not manage, and past that line they are the better buy.

Why 3 responders on the on-call line?

PagerDuty is priced per user, and 3 is the smallest rota that gives each person nights off. Provisore's price does not move with headcount, so the same rota costs the same with ten people in it.

What if I only need one or two of these?

Then buy one or two of these. A solo developer with 3 servers and no rota wants Solo and none of this page. The arithmetic pays off once you already hold several subscriptions.
