Frequently asked questions
Do you host my apps?
No. Provisore manages servers you own. Connect a server from any provider over SSH, or have Provisore create one for you on Hetzner, the one provider it can create servers on. You pay your provider for the machine and us for the management.
What is a "monitored server"?
A server running our metrics collector or log shipper. Both push data to our servers around the clock, so monitored servers are what your plan counts. A server you only deploy to counts against nothing, which is why connected servers are unlimited on Pro and Scale.
What if I outgrow the included monitored servers?
Add them at $5 per server per month. When a server would take you past your plan's allowance, Provisore shows the charge and asks you to accept it first. Billing is hourly from the moment the agent is installed, so a server you monitor for two weeks costs two weeks, and the charge stops once neither agent runs on it. You can also set a ceiling on monitored servers under Settings → Billing. Past it, installing another agent is refused, so a script with the wrong loop bound cannot run up a bill.
Is there a limit on how much I can ship?
Each monitored server may ship 500,000 log lines a day, about 350 a minute, which is a busy web server. The day starts with the server's first line. Past the budget, that server's shipping pauses until its day turns over, and fleet log search lists it as over its daily line budget. You choose which files each server ships. Access logs are usually most of the volume, and turning them off on a busy server is the usual fix.
Is there a free trial?
Yes, 14 days on any plan. You add a card up front and pay nothing until the trial ends. Cancel during the trial and billing never starts.
What happens if I cancel during the trial?
The team goes read-only straight away and you are never charged. Your servers and sites keep running as configured. Subscribe again and you can make changes immediately.
What happens if I cancel a paid plan?
You keep full access until the end of the period you have paid for, then the team goes read-only. Nothing is deleted and nothing on your servers changes.
Which OS do you support?
Ubuntu 26.04 LTS and Ubuntu 24.04 LTS, with every runtime on both. New servers start on Ubuntu 26.04. The release is fixed for the life of the server. The one runtime difference is Swift. swift.org builds Ubuntu 26.04 toolchains from Swift 6.4.0 onwards, so that is the floor for a Swift site there.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes. Upgrades and downgrades are prorated through Stripe. Downgrading deletes nothing. You keep reading your existing logs, alerts and incidents, and you cannot add more until you upgrade again.
Do I need my own S3 bucket for backups?
Yes. Backups go to storage you control, so you can restore them without us and we never hold your data. Any S3-compatible provider works.
Start on the plan you think you need.
Upgrades and downgrades are prorated, and moving between plans deletes nothing.
