A Coolify alternative that runs your app without Docker
Coolify deploys your apps as Docker containers, managed from an instance you host yourself or from Coolify Cloud. Provisore deploys them onto the server itself, under Nginx, PHP-FPM and systemd on Ubuntu, with no image to build and nothing to host. Coolify self-hosted is free, and Cloud is $5 a month for 2 servers. Coolify Cloud costs less at 1, 3 and 5 servers and the same at 10 and 20 servers.
When Coolify is the better choice
You want it free and open source
Self-hosted Coolify costs nothing, has no feature restrictions and is licensed Apache-2.0. Provisore is a paid service.
Your app already ships as a container
Coolify deploys a Dockerfile, a Docker Compose file or a prebuilt image, and has one-click services. Provisore builds Laravel, PHP, Node, static and Swift sites from a repository and runs no images.
You need a database Provisore does not manage
Coolify runs MongoDB, ClickHouse, Dragonfly and KeyDB as well as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB and Redis. Provisore manages MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis and Memcached.
Your servers are not Ubuntu
Coolify installs on Debian, Red Hat, SUSE, Arch, Alpine and Raspberry Pi OS as well as Ubuntu, on amd64 or arm64. Provisore needs a fresh Ubuntu 26.04 or 24.04 LTS server.
What Provisore does differently
Your app runs on the server, not in a container
Sites run on the server's own Nginx, PHP-FPM and systemd. There is no image to build and no control instance to host, and everything Provisore writes is standard Ubuntu configuration you can still edit by hand.
Each site under its own Unix account
A site's files, its PHP-FPM pool or systemd unit and its environment file belong to an account of its own, so on a shared server each site can read only its own files.
A health check that rolls back on its own
After the symlink switch Provisore requests the site. On a server error, a refused connection or a timeout it points the symlink back at the previous release and reloads.
Monitoring in the same subscription
Server metrics on every plan, then alert rules, uptime checks and log search across servers from Pro, and on-call rotations from Scale.
A server you can log into
Add your public key to the team's pool and each new server gets it as it goes active. The browser terminal opens a shell as the deploy user or as one site's own account.
Backups in a bucket you own
Database dumps and site file archives on a schedule, uploaded to any S3-compatible bucket you control, from Pro. You can restore them without us.
What it costs
The cheapest plan on each side, worked out from the published prices.
| Per month | 1 server | 3 servers | 5 servers | 10 servers | 20 servers |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Provisore | $12Solo | $12Solo | $29Pro | $29Pro | $59Scale |
| Coolify Cloud | $5Cloud | $8Cloud | $14Cloud | $29Cloud | $59Cloud |
| Coolify self-hosted | FreeSelf-hosted | FreeSelf-hosted | FreeSelf-hosted | FreeSelf-hosted | FreeSelf-hosted |
- Coolify Cloud costs less at 1, 3 and 5 servers and the same at 10 and 20 servers.
- Coolify self-hosted costs less at every size from 1 server to 20 servers.
The subscription only: your provider bills the servers on every side. Provisore’s figures assume every server runs the metrics collector, because monitored servers are what the plans count. A server you only deploy to counts against nothing on Pro and Scale.
Moving from Coolify
Start from a fresh Ubuntu server rather than the Coolify host. Connect it, create a site per app from the same repository, restore each database from a dump, and point DNS at the new server when the site answers.
Frequently asked questions
Does Provisore use Docker at all?
No. Laravel and PHP sites run under PHP-FPM, Node and Swift apps run as systemd services, and Nginx serves static sites and sits in front of the rest.
Can I still run a container next to my sites?
Provisore will not run it for you. If you start one yourself, a web service puts a domain and a certificate in front of the port it listens on.
Do I need to host anything?
No. Provisore runs the control plane and reaches your servers over SSH, so there is no instance of it for you to keep running.
Is Coolify Cloud cheaper?
Coolify Cloud costs less at 1, 3 and 5 servers and the same at 10 and 20 servers. Self-hosted Coolify costs nothing beyond the machine it runs on.
