Ploi vs Laravel Forge, and where Provisore fits
Ploi and Forge both manage servers you rent, for a flat monthly price. Ploi gates zero-downtime deploys, backups and server monitoring at Pro, $16 a month for up to 10 servers. Forge has zero-downtime deploys on every plan, chosen when the site is created. Provisore has atomic releases and server metrics on every plan, a health check that rolls back on its own, and on-call from Scale. Ploi's cheapest plan costs less at every size from 1 server to 20 servers. Counting only plans with zero-downtime deploys, Ploi costs less at 5, 10 and 20 servers and more at 1 and 3 servers.
When Ploi is the better choice
You want the lowest price
Ploi's cheapest plan costs less at every size from 1 server to 20 servers. Free runs 1 server, 1 site and 5 deployments a month for nothing, and Pro adds zero-downtime deploys and backups for $16 a month.
Your servers run Debian, or Docker
Ploi supports Debian 12 and 13 beside Ubuntu, and has Docker servers managed from its interface. Provisore runs on Ubuntu 26.04 and 24.04 LTS only and has no container runtime.
You want status pages, or backups outside S3
Ploi's Unlimited plan includes public status pages, and its backups can go to Google Drive, Dropbox, SFTP or FTP as well as S3. Provisore backs up to S3-compatible storage only.
What Provisore does differently
Monitoring in the same subscription
Server metrics on every plan, then alert rules, uptime checks and log search across servers from Pro, and on-call rotations from Scale.
A health check that rolls back on its own
After the symlink switch Provisore requests the site. On a server error, a refused connection or a timeout it points the symlink back at the previous release and reloads.
Atomic releases on every site
Every deploy builds in a new release directory while the old one serves, then goes live with one rename. There is no deploy mode to pick when a site is created, and no plan that leaves it out.
Deploys that wait for GitHub checks
A site can hold each push until the commit's GitHub checks pass and then deploy exactly that commit, or skip it when a check fails. A staging site can promote the commit it runs to production.
Swift beside PHP and Node
Vapor and Hummingbird apps are built with swift build on the server and run under systemd behind Nginx. The toolchain is downloaded, verified and installed for you.
Each site under its own Unix account
A site's files, its PHP-FPM pool or systemd unit and its environment file belong to an account of its own, so on a shared server each site can read only its own files.

- Counting only plans with uptime checks, Ploi costs less at 20 servers and more at 1, 3, 5 and 10 servers.
The subscription only: your provider bills the servers on every side. Provisore’s figures assume every server runs the metrics collector, because monitored servers are what the plans count. A server you only deploy to counts against nothing on Pro and Scale.
Moving from Ploi
The migration wizard reads an existing Ubuntu machine over SSH and recreates its sites, databases, cron entries and daemons on a new Provisore server. A machine read this way has no repository or deploy script to report, so you fill those in before the first deploy. The data, the uploaded files and the DNS change are yours to move.
Frequently asked questions
Which of the three costs least?
Ploi's cheapest plan costs less at every size from 1 server to 20 servers. Counting only plans with zero-downtime deploys, Ploi costs less at 5, 10 and 20 servers and more at 1 and 3 servers. Laravel Forge costs less at 5, 10 and 20 servers, the same at 1 server and more at 3 servers. The price table above names the plan behind each figure.
Where do zero-downtime deploys start?
On Ploi, at Pro. On Forge, on every plan, for a site on one server and only if chosen when the site is created. On Provisore, on every plan and every site.
Can I move a Ploi server to Provisore?
If it runs Ubuntu, the migration wizard can read it over SSH and recreate its sites, databases, cron entries and daemons on a new server. Repositories and deploy scripts are yours to fill in, and the data is yours to move.
Does Provisore have a free plan?
No. Every plan starts with a 14-day trial, card required, and Solo is the cheapest at $12 a month.
